The trip consists of two parts:

Part 1- To Santa Cruz de Quiche (Quiche)

-Leave Antigua, Panajachel, or Xela by midmorning

From Antigua:

Take a shuttle to Chichicastenango (2.hrs 30min) then take a bus to the terminal in Quiche

OR

Take a bus to Chimaltenango (45 min). Get off immediately after crossing the Pan-American Highway then take a Quiche-bound bus from the highway's main bus stop and ride it all the way to the Quiche terminal (2hrs 30min)

From Pana or Xela:

Take a bus to Los Encuentros. Get off and take a bus to the Quiche terminal (1hr 20 minutes)

Part 2- Quiche to Nebaj

Take a Nebaj-bound bus from the Quiche terminal (2hrs. 30 minutes). Buses leave sporadically all day until 4pm. The ride up through the mountains is beautiful but not for the faint of heart!

Upon arrival, head to the "Guias Ixiles" Tourism office located next door to "El Descanso" Restaurant just 2 blocks from the Central Park, behind the municipal building, "La Muni".
